Scrubbing In

Part of the sterile technique of surgery is preparation of the surgeon’s hands and arms, and putting on protective equipment.

Surgical caps, masks, gowns, gloves and shoe covers not only protect the wound against contamination, but also protect the surgeon against exposure to the patient’s body fluids and tissues.
