Unattended delivery would probably work out well enough for our species to continue, but is accompanied by an unacceptably high level of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. We can do much better.

These delivery skills are designed to facilitate the natural delivery process and in some cases intervene to promote the safe arrival of the next generation.
