Cryosurgery Video (1 Minute)
Place a small amount of lubricant on the cryo tip. Then apply the tip to the wart.
No anesthetic is needed. Freezing causes only a minor stinging sensation.
When the cryo gun is fired, the tip rapidly freezes, forming an iceball at the tip.
Pressing the “thaw” trigger will rapidly thaw the tip, releasing it from the skin.
Usually, two freeze-thaw cycles are done on each wart as that is most effective.
Freeze just the wart. Try not to freeze much of the surrounding skin.
Following cryo, the wart will become edematous, then necrotic, and then will fall off. There is minimal to no scaring.
Never freeze inside the vagina, because of the risk of a fistula forming between the vagina and the bladder or bowel.
